Kansas Minimum Wage and Overtime Exemptions Laws


Executive exemption

Kansas minimum wage law does not exempt executive employees from its minimum wage or overtime requirements. However, most employers are exempt from Kansas minimum wage and overtime requirements because they are subject to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Thus, the standards regarding exempt executive employees established pursuant to that law would apply.


Administrative exemption

Kansas minimum wage law does not exempt administrative employees from its minimum wage or overtime requirements. However, most employers are exempt from Kansas minimum wage and overtime requirements because they are subject to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Thus, the standards regarding exempt administrative employees established pursuant to that law would apply.


Professional exemption

Kansas minimum wage law does not exempt administrative employees from its minimum wage or overtime requirements. However, most employers are exempt from Kansas minimum wage and overtime requirements because they are subject to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Thus, the standards regarding exempt professional employees established pursuant to that law would apply.


Outside salesman exemption

Kansas minimum wage law does not exempt outside salesmen from its minimum wage or overtime requirements. However, most employers are exempt from Kansas minimum wage and overtime requirements because they are subject to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Thus, the standards regarding exempt outside sales employees established pursuant to that law would apply.


Computer employee exemption

Kansas minimum wage law does not exempt computer systems analysts, computer programmers, software engineers, or other similarly skilled workers from its minimum wage or overtime requirements. However, most employers are exempt from Kansas minimum wage and overtime requirements because they are subject to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Thus, the standards regarding exempt computer systems analyst, computer programmer, software engineer, or other similarly skilled workers established pursuant to that law would apply.


Other minimum wage and overtime exemptions

Kansas minimum wage law does not address other exemptions to its minimum wage and overtime requirements. However, most employers are exempt from Kansas minimum wage and overtime requirements because they are subject to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Thus, the standards regarding other exemptions established pursuant to that law would apply.
