Veteran Preference Ratings

Summary

Updates the veteran preference ratings for State employment; provides that for positions in any agency or any other political subdivision in which positions are filled under civil service or any job classification system, a 5-Point Preference category or a 10-Point Compensable Disability Preference category shall be applied to qualifying veterans; provides that a veteran who qualifies shall have the corresponding preference points added to their regular passing score on examinations or category ratings.

Public Employees Grievance Procedure

Senate Bill 461 (2023)

Summary

Relates to the Public Employees Grievance Procedure; provides that within a specified number of days following the occurrence of the event upon which the grievance is based, within a specified number of days of the date upon which the event became known to the employee, or within a specified number of days of the most recent occurrence of a continuing practice giving rise to a grievance, an employee may file a written grievance with the chief administrator and request either a conference or a hearing.
