September 25 – The Department of Commerce announces that there will be no change to the state minimum wage in 2016

On September 25, 2015, the Ohio Department of Commerce announced that there will be no increase to the state minimum wage in 2016. The state minimum wage law requires the Department of Commerce to increase the minimum wage each year when there is an increase in the consumer price index for all urban wage earners and clerical workers. The Department determined there was no increase in the relevant consumer price index and, therefore, there will be no increase in the state’s minimum wage for 2016.
