April 19 – Governor Ricketts signed a law protecting certain employee private information from disclosure to employers

On April 19, 2016, Governor Ricketts signed a law prohibiting employers from requiring employees to disclose certain private information related to their online accounts and activity. The law also prohibits employers from requiring employees to add them to their lists of contacts associated with any of the employees’ online accounts.

The new law goes into effect on July 19, 2016.
