Summary

Creates the Mississippi Equal Pay Act; provides definitions for employee, employer, wage, rate, and unpaid wages; provides that no employer shall pay an employee a wage at a rate less than the rate at which an employee of the opposite sex in the same establishment is paid for equal work on a job, the performance of which requires equal skill, effort and responsibility, and which is performed under similar working conditions; provides remedies; provides the time in which a civil action must be filed.

COVID 19 Vaccination Status Discrimination

Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act

Senate Bill 2095

Summary

Enacts the State Medical Cannabis Act; authorizes medical cannabis use by certain patients who have debilitating medical conditions; requires a patient to receive a written certification from a qualified practitioner to qualify for a registry identification card for the use of medical cannabis; allows for a deduction from income taxes for all of the ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred during the taxable year in carrying on a business as a medical cannabis establishment.
