August 10 – Gov. Backer signed a law allowing warehouses and delivery centers to be open on Sundays and holidays

On August 10, 2016, Gov. Backer signed a law that among other things allows warehouses and delivery centers to be open on Sundays and holidays.

The new law went into effect upon signing.

August 1- Gov. Baker signed a law requiring pay equity and prohibiting employers from asking applicants about their wage history

On August 1, 2016, Gov. Baker signed a law requiring employers to pay women and men equally for comparable work. The law also prohibits employers from requiring applicants to disclose their wage history or banning employees from discussing pay.

The new law is effective on July 1, 2018.
