Child Labor Law

Summary

Provides that an employer who employs a minor under 16 years of age in a television, motion picture, or related entertainment production may allow the minor to work until 10 p.m. without seeking a waiver from the Department of Labor; provides that a waiver request for a minor to work between 10 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. or between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. shall be granted if the Director of Labor, or his or her authorized representative, is satisfied that all of the specified conditions are met.

One Day Rest In Seven Act

Provides that every employer shall allow every employee except those specified at least 24 consecutive hours of rest in every consecutive seven day period; makes changes concerning meal periods, employee notification requirements, and remote employees notification; provides that any employer who violates any of the provisions of the Act shall be guilty of a civil offense and shall be subject to a civil penalty and damages; provides for which actions shall constitute a separate offense.
