May 15 – Gov. Haslam signed a law prohibiting non-diclosure agreements related to sexual harassment
May 15, Governor Haslam signed House Bill 2613. This law prohibits employers from requiring employees to sign non-disclosure agreements related to sexual harassment in the workplace as a condition of employment.
The new law became effective when signed.
April
April 2 – Gov. Haslam signed a law regarding agricultural employers and workers’ compensation.
On April 2, 2018, Governor Haslam signed Senate Bill 2141. This law allows employers of farm or agricultural employees to purchase workers’ compensation policies and, then, when desired, cancel the policies and provide notice to their employees.
The new law became effective when signed.
